Cue the sigh’s of relief, mixed with an overly zealous drum roll and welcome Surry Hills’s newest a-lister Mad Pizza e bar.
It’s no secret that Mad Pizza has been charming the pants off Sydney since the opening of their Victoria Street, Darlinghurst restaurant in 2005.
Thankfully the owners have decided to share the ‘amore’, and the bustling Crown strip couldn’t be happier.
Mad is a salute to a modernised and authentic Italian eatery, from the cosy fit-out, live music (Friday and Saturday nights) to the menu. Mad invites you to eat with humility and an open heart (get creative with crayons on the paper covered table cloths).
Whatever the affair, Mad delivers pronto. Groove in your seat and order up. Try the ‘Tibia’ (Shredded lamb shank, grilled eggplant with yoghurt dressing) , and accompany it with a glass of vino (2005 St. Maur Pinot).
Before bidding staff ‘Buono Notte’, gaze your eyes over the mouth-watering ‘Dolce’ menu. Favouritism would be unjust.
