Lager love

Crown Ambassador Reserve
Some people really love beer. They sniff it, they quaff it and they swish it about in their schooner glasses and admire the golden glow. Natural habitats include beer cafes, boutique breweries and cellars stocked with ominously gurgling home brew.

This highly selective group of beer lovers now have another reason to raise their glasses and cry ‘cheers’ because Crown Ambassador Reserve has just released another 6,000 bottles of their super posh, super expensive lager.

What would make someone pay $70 for a bottle of beer? For starters, Crown Ambassador Reserve is a lager dressed up to the nines in a Champagne-style bottle that is wax-sealed and numbered. The similarities to wine don’t stop there. This sweet, caramelised malt beverage is designed to mature and develop with age, just like a bottle of Grange.

John Cozens, the Master Brewer recommends that you cellar your bottle for up to five years to get the best flavour out of it, and when you do crack it open, enjoy it with a slab of wagyu, winter root vegetables and platter of strong vintage cheddars.
