Blu Dot Yonder

What just happened? Did you see that?

Enter the world of Blu Dot, a mad emporium of modern interior goodies created by three frustrated Minnesota residents.

The story goes like this; when the company founders finished university, they discovered that they were too broke to buy the stuff they wanted, and too cool to buy the stuff they could afford.

Rather than take the whatever approach popularised by slackers, these three pioneers upped-tools and starting designing awesome furniture.

Turns out they were pretty good at it – and that was some 17 years back. Today, people like Daniel Craig buy their stuff (such as a Cant desk for Rachael Weisz’s son) and their Woodrow bed has a waiting list as long as a wooden whale.

Lucky for us Aussies, another entrepreneur has stepped in – a chap by the name of Brett Conroy – and convinced these wily creatives to launch their brand below the equator.

Delivery takes a cool six weeks and if you want to go into a store and check things out IRL (in real life), c’est possible. Blu Dot Sydney showroom opened just last week in the furniture district of Alexandria.

Blu skies ahead.
