Victorias and other national secrets

New Victoria’s Secret, stores and eateries at Sydney Airport
Since the completion of a multi-million dollar upgrade at Sydney International Airport, you’ll find a few worthy distractions to offset travel fatigue:

A new Victoria’s Secret store (the first for Australia) holds plenty of pre-flight sparkle. There’s fragrance, makeup, hair and body care products and a generous collection of travel-size accessories including passport wallets, sunglasses, watches, bracelets and toiletry bags.  You’ll also find Victoria’s Secret’s Travel and Leisure range of apparel here, think comfy casual cotton travel wear ranging from t-shirts to hoodies.

Stock up for little ones in The Wiggles store, with all the Wiggles DVDs, books, toys and games a child (and travel-weary parents) could hope for. Or be charmed by new additions Thomas Sabo, Godiva (chocolate haven) and L’Occitane.

If you’re dreading food service pre-fixed with in-flight, Jared Ingersoll’s signature Toasted Reuben Sandwich or Wild Rabbit and Pork Terrine at Danks Street Depot will comfort. Or you can try traditional Swiss fare in the very first Montreux Jazz Café outside of Switzerland; an institution in Switzerland for music lovers where you can enjoy rare archival performances over a coffee or meal.

If pushed for time, Grand China has just opened a speedy yum cha service, or if seeking a decadent bite before a long-haul, Caviar House & Prunier Seafood Bar will sustain.  The 60-year-old luxury caviar house is the only seafood bar in the world to produce its own smoked salmon and fresh caviar, as well as importing caviar from the Caspian Sea.

Unsecure your tray table for a bento box from Itacho Sushi. You’ll be the envy of fellow air travellers, with sushi and sashimi delicacies made to order by master sushi chef Yoshifumi Tanimoto.
