Topshop & Topman Move Into Gowings

Trams, flat whites, slightly more affordable CBD lunches. When it comes to some things it’s clear where Melbourne triumphs.

Alas, when it comes to which city gets the boon of playing host to British high-street royalty Topshop, we’re not quite so ready to concede defeat.

Luckily this week (October 4th) sartorial justice will be restored, and Sydney will get its very own Topshop & Topman flagship right in the heart of its CBD (listen carefully and you can hear the crumbling of Zara’s dictatorial dreams).

Filling four levels and 1800 square feet of the historic Gowings building, this one will come bearing threads from Topshop’s Main, Boutique, Dress Up, Make Up and Unique collections to name just a few.

With fresh trends landing in the form of leathers, florals, sun-bleached shapes, tweed and PVC, there will be racks aplenty of incredible clothes to satisfy even the most insatiable shopper’s appetites. And come opening day, there’s another reason to have your claws out (metaphorically) and your powers of reasoning razor-sharp. Topshop’s Louise Gray collection (below) will making its sequin-heavy debut as the first international collaboration to be offered at the Sydney store.

If you’re the first in best dressed type, you’ll like what’s in store for the opening.

Perhaps consider upgrading your party / camping / lounge gear early this year.
