Top 5 cool summer treats

The pick of ice-cream and gelateria’s
Summer conjures up memories of Mr Whippy’s music roaming the streets, but as we’re all big and grown up now, we need the adult equivalents. Try our cool five hot picks:

1.  Trampoline
This boutique chain of gelato stores offers mouth-watering flavours of ice cream and gelato. The milk and cream comes from their own Gippsland farms and is made fresh and on site daily. Our pick? Pistachio made from Sicilian pistachios.

2.  Igloo Zoo
If healthy summer treats are more your thing, Igloo Zoo has what it takes to make you taste buds and body equally as happy. It’s all-natural, super chilled yoghurt with unique flavours and toppings like pomegranate, green tea, goji berries, guava and halva.

3.  7apples Gelato
If you’re after authentic Italian style gelato, look no further than 7apples Gelato. Mark Mariotti worked in Tuscan gelateria’s to learn the art of gelato before opening 7apples Gelato in 2001. More than 100 flavours are rotated to offer 26 flavours at one time. Choice!

4.  Fritz Gelato
Another boutique chain of gelato shops, Fritz Gelato pride themselves on organic, fresh ingredients and have won several awards for their gelato including flavours like Cinnamon & Ginger, Almond Nougat and Pannacotta & Raspberry.

5.  Brunetti
This Melbourne institution not only offers great coffee, sweets and cakes, but traditional Italian style gelato as well. Served in a variety of ways, Brunetti offer a traditional or waffle cone, or coppette (cup). If eating at home is more your thing, they offer thermal gelati take-away packs.

Super cool.
