The Incinerator Heats up Willoughby

The Incinerator aWilloughby has a new wonder kid on the block. The Incinerator is breathing new life back into the historic incinerator building right next to Hallstrom Park.
 
Designed by Walter Burley Griffin back in the 1930s, the pitched roof and sandstone walls are the same, but the Acme Design team has brought a very cool vibe to the venue, along with a wood fire oven.  

When your cafe is literally called the Incinerator, it’s good to get fired up and you’ll find Jonathan Slingo is making the most of the new wood fire oven. Fresh breads and a moreish array of pastries are baked in house. 

The Incinerator does a very good job of looking after kids of all ages. After 10am you can order a glass of bubbles for the big kids and for the minors there’s half serves of Tim Tam or Vanilla Malt milkshakes. If you’re being good, stick to the Boot Camp Smoothie or a bowl of tapioca and coconut yoghurt.
 
It would be a waste to go to The Incinerator for just a coffee – save room for the “4 Little Pigs” breakfast. Cheek, jowl, neck and hock, with a fried egg for good measure, is a satisfying pick me up after a big night out. For lunch there’s Spring Bay mussels, quinoa salads, even a 12 hour lamb shoulder salad.
