Put your palate to the test: Blind Tasting

Blind TastingWe all know wine can loosen your inhibitions – for some more than others – so what happens when you combine it with a bit of theatrics?

Blind Tasting is a one-woman show that’s back for another year after rave reviews and a sell out show in Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne Fringe Festivals. Get your tickets quick because Aussie actress Sylvia Keays knows how to put on a good performance, and this year she’s got Shaw Vineyard Estate on hand too. One of our favourite local wine producers, the Shaw Estate comes from Canberra and we can thank them for bringing the wine element of the night to life, literally.

The night starts with wine tasting (of course) and nibbles, provided by Shaw Vineyard, and is followed by the performance of Blind Tasting. You’ll get try a few of the Estate’s new releases and mingle among wine lovers, before sitting down to a unique bit of theatre, written and directed by Paul Gilchrist.

As a one-woman show, the story is all about the main character Sophie, but don’t worry, there’s plenty of wit and humour, and glass-half-full attitude to make this a fun night out. Sophie starts out selling wine over the phone, but as wine lovers will understand, wine is about much more than just a drink.

Adult tickets are $40 and concessions $35 – and given the show’s tendency to book out, it’s a good idea to lock in your ticket now.
