Pedalling art

Riderspoke by Blast Theory in Sydney

When was the last time you played ‘hide and seek’…on two wheels?  We’re gathering never, which is why the inquisitor in you might try UK Blast Theory’s theatre-meets-game play experience.

Rider Spoke is an interactive urban experiment, where you and other willing cyclists become the star actors.  For 75 minutes, you cycle through the streets and lane ways of The Rocks, guided by a computer console. Your mission is to search for an undiscovered hiding place, reflect as asked by the artists (through a headset) and record your thoughts to a posed question.

As you move on, your console reveals using beautifully crafted imagery and iconography where others have hidden. When you reach other player’s hidden spots, their questions and intimate thoughts are played to you in the place where they were recorded.

Consider this your invite to get on yer bike.
