Pana Chocolate Hits Sydney

Pana ChocolateBounty. Lamington. Vespa wheel. Choc mint. Gluten free. Dairy free. Organic.

This is not a drill.

That’s right. Pana Chocolate has come to Sydney. Tucked into the back of The Fountain in Alexandria (the same converted warehouse as Bread and Circus), Melbourne’s master raw chocolatier Pana Barbounis and his healthy dessert store is now happily serving us Sydneysiders healthy chocolate.

We’re not kidding about the happy part. From the friendly staff who patiently describe every activated, dehydrated, quinoa-encrusted goodie to the motivational, chocolate themed inspirational quotes along one wall, this place is just downright happy.

And then there’s the customers – from the Coeliac and gluten intolerant, to dairy and fructose challenged, they’ve come from far and wide (even Bondi, home of health cafes and juice bars). And they’re just damn happy to be able to eat everything. There’s no off limits zone here.

And there’s no holding back. Pana Chocolate’s commitment to 100% raw, organic handmade chocolate sees an ingredient list that includes coconut marshmallow, crunchy cashew nut base, brazil nut ganache, chia raspberry jam and sesame caramel spread.

What are these all used for? The full range of Pana Chocolate’s pre-packaged chocolates are available but it’s the raw cheesecake slices that you can’t miss. Flavours change every day but the bestsellers – Sneakers and Bounty – sell out fast.

There’s also choc pops, carrot cake slice, lemon slice, cacao hot chocolate (made with Brazil nut milk and a scoop of chocolate cheesecake ice cream), custom blends of Mayde Tea and coconut water.

Like we said, go nuts!
