Who needs Cannes? Nine World premieres, three International and 86 Australian premieres plainly show – we can hold our own.

It’s red carpet time as the 2009 Sydney Film Festival kicks off with Looking for Eric this Wednesday. Teri Hatcher’s even making an appearance at the Australian premiere of Henry Selick’s Coraline (10 June), and director John Woo will walk the red carpet for the Australian premiere of his epic war film Red Cliff (9 June).

See the latest award winners, family films, short, silent and sustainability films. History-making collaborations, documentaries and animations. You can meet the filmmakers during lunchtime talks, at events or amongst industry at conferences.
