Burger building

Burgers made to measure
One beef patty on wholemeal please, avocado, pimento, hold the beetroot, extra gruyere and fried onion strings, zero mushrooms. Some side red relish, no wait – make that spicy sour cream and…
Normally the person taking your order would have lost it by now. But at The Counter, a customise-your-burger-joint, the pickier you are the better.

From the moment you walk into the industrial feel diner you’re in charge of your own culinary destiny. Use the clipboard menu to make your designer burger; there are 4 proteins, 10 cheeses, 28 toppings, 18 sauces and 3 buns.  A matrix of 312,120 combinations to choose from.

A little overwhelmed? Signature dishes are available for easy choosing. If avoiding the carbs opt for the bun-free burger in a bowl. This is, however, a burger joint and you might as well have your peanut butter shake and “The Fifty-Fifty” of sweet chips and onion strings.

Bucking the franchise trend of losing choice for consistency, The Counter originally hails from California.  Crows Nest is where you’ll find the first Australian outpost, where the burgers are big and you eat them messy. Just how a good burger should be.
