Steph Prem’s Healthy Guide to Melbourne

When your job is to live and breathe healthy, always looking after your body to the max, you’re sure to find some hidden gems in this lovely city that make it possible while on the go. That’s why we waned the inside scoop from former Australian Winter Olympian and influential fitness coach, Stephanie Prem about her favourite places around Melbourne for food, smoothies, coffee, working out, and to unwind.

Since retiring her snowboard (professionally, not recreationally), Steph has been busy, busy! Her main time-consuming venture is her own fitness & pilates studio Premium Performance. Only now it’s not just one studio, it’s multiplying! Steph is opening her second fitness space in Melbourne’s busy South Yarra – Studio PP. Her new studio offers clients Reformer Pilates, yoga, barre, boot camp, boxing, and personal training allowing for tailored programs to focus on each individual. The Studio PP team are all about creating positive changes in client’s health and lives. We were big fans of her pop-up studio so we’re really excited about this new venture.

But where does she hang out when she’s not at her studio working up a sweat? Here are Steph’s favourite picks for living a healthy life in Melbourne.

Organic pressed juice

I love a Greene St. or a cold pressed Alkalise green juice after my acupuncture appointments.

Greene St. Juice Co.

Fresh air

I love lapping The Tan. My sister and I go all the time with her dog Puggsly. We throw in a few extra Anderson Street hills if we are feeling like an extra workout!

Tasty breakfast

Number one on my hit list for breakfast and lunch spot in Melbourne is Combi. You know you have an addiction when all the staff know your name and your order! I am a chia party addict and coco banana smoothie fiend!

Shop 1, 140 Ormond Road, Elwood VIC 3184

Killer workout

My new favourite place in town to work out! I can do my own pilates reformer workouts in between teaching or first thing in the mornings but also love to do the other girls’ classes to mix things up like boxing and yoga!

Studio PP
Leve 1, 7 Almeida Cres, South Yarra, Vic 3141

Pure relaxation

Epic Epsom salts float pods. I go for my back pain and relaxation time to switch off and hide from the world.

Gravity Float

Salad on the south side

Best quinoa salad this side of the river!

Tom, Dick and Harry

Protein balls

Did someone say choc mint protein ball obsession? Love them, can’t get enough of them. I’ve said too much.

A natural-looking tan

Organic, non ompa lumpa colour and it comes to your door step – ticks all my tanning tick boxes!

Stephie Organic Spray Tans
Mobile spray tan – she comes to you!

Convenience and health

I spend so much of my hard earned money at this place. This is where I buy all my ingredients for my bliss balls and gluten free cereal! The choc covered macadamias and homemade almond butter are all time favourites.

A fresh polish

Shellac baby, shellac!
