Stadium Stomp

SONY DSCKick your heels up and stomp … Ok now, kick them up 7,343 times. Stadium Stomp MCG is taking place on June 16th when up to 2000 people are expected to take part in Australia’s longest consecutive stair climb challenge.

Who hasn’t sat in the grandstand watching footballers run round the field and thought, ‘must get fit’? Well now’s your chance to work out your butt rather than just sitting on it.

Running through the MCG has to be more fun than working up a sweat on the stair climb at the gym. This fundraising event is a fun way of getting fit.

Don’t worry, you don’t have to do all 7000 steps. Sign up for the Half Course, where you’ll do a circuit of the Level 1 seating bowl. That’s 1890 steps and apparently should only take 20 mins (hmmm, we’ll see).

For the Michelle Bridges’ among us, there’s the full course, all 7343 steps up to Level 4 and back down again. Expect the fastest to be done in 45 mins but allow 2 hours if you want to take it slow.

Participants can take part in a team if you don’t want to go solo. You’ll be raising funds for Reclink or nominate another the charity you’d like your efforts to go to.
