Meet Rosetta Melbourne

Melbourne, meet Rosetta. Rosetta, meet Melbourne. Right, now that we have the pleasantries out of the way, let’s get down to business.

Rosetta – Neil Perry’s new lady friend – is his first time with an Italian (after Rockpool and Spice Temple). And boy has he chosen well! She’s elegant, refined and has great taste in food and wine.

A traditional ristorante in spirit, Rosetta’s seasonal menu highlights Neil’s favourite regional recipes from his travels throughout Italy. Peruse the menu featuring ‘wood fired’ this, and ‘chargrilled’ that, and choose from crowd pleasers like sucking pig, roast chicken and suckling lamb.

With two dedicated pasta chefs, you can expect something pretty special in the carb department. Think sixteen different types, handmade with amore every day. You’re excused (in advance) for not knowing maccaronara, cavatelli and garganelli which sit next to more popular varieties like gnocchi and pappardelle.

Rosetta loves her vino too. With more than 700 Italian varietals from both Italy and Australia on offer, there’s no reason not to leave rosy cheeked and speaking terrible Italian.

Immaculate design (thanks to renowned interior designer Iain Halliday) – marble, leather, velvet banquets, mahogany parquetry walls, chandeliers – is combined with excellent service and Neil’s signature smooth “we’ve got it under control” attitude.
