Ciao Janus

JanusHEROHe’s Italian with a hint of Brazil; has a rustic charm and casts a steely spell. Entering the newly launched ristorante is like uncovering the many complex facets of a rare Argyle Diamond.

Simply put; Janus is a bakery slash cafe slash restaurant slash bar and all round place to get your senses tested.

The faithful Owner aka George Michael has injected the space with his own ‘you only live once’ calling card. Janus will humble both the restless and casual diners alike. Perhaps you’d be confused for meeting before? With three already established siblings located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, he’s certainly lapping up the attention of his new Eastern Suburbs surround.

If time permits head for a mid-morning affogato and ask Zane (Head Pastry Chef) to heat up one of his freshly homemade (on site) pastries. From croissants to macarons (for those sweet risers), there’s no shortage of options. No rest for the wicked? Order up one of the 12-hour lamb Panini’s to-go.

Still want for more? The sound of bidding Arividerci to those co-workers never tasted so good. Go with the signature one-metre plank of tapas and antipasto which has been whipped up by Head Chef Marcello before bowing out gracefully with the Wagyu Burger Italiano style. The perfect night-cap, you think.

Safe to say this diamond has found its home amongst the roughness of the Cross.
