Bopp & Tone goes dog friendly as its Terrace opens for those on all ‘paws’

Bopp & Tone_Dog Friendly Terrace_1Anyone watching ‘Married at First Sight’ (er, who isn’t?), knows that finding your paw-fect date is tough work. Most of us don’t have a bank of relationship gurus, pheromone testers or psychological experts to help us find the one. We rely on our friends.

For many of us, that special person just happens to have four paws. For those who don’t, it’s likely we live vicariously through our friends ‘with dogs’ and look forward to puppy dates! Not many city venues have opened their kennel doors but Bopp & Tone ‘leads’ the way as it pulls back the red rope to its garden terrace and becomes dog friendly.

The main terrace is a beauty, weaving around the corner from Carrington Street, pooches are welcome as owners perch on high tables. The bar menu spans favourites starting with warm olives, sourdough and a saucer or rich olive oil for dunking, then onto flash fried calamari with squid ink calamari. Taramasalata is reimagined with potato scallops, made for scooping, whilst a posh open sandwich toastie is topped with luscious roasted eggplant. Just add a bowl of spiced salt shoestring fries whilst at your feet a bowl of refreshing water is provided for your furry friend.

Whether its  pooch & pint of Tones larger courtesy of Rocks Brewery or a Reislingfreak No.3 its nice to know that the pupparazi is welcome whether its on two feet for more.

About the author

Karen’s corporate job back in the UK had included entertaining clients in some of the best restaurants. This ultimately sparked a curiosity 'Just how do they do that?' (she confesses she was brought up on meat and vegetables, so this was all very exciting). Currently a Mr & Mrs Smith 'Tastemaker', she’s flashpacked around the world, learning about wine, experiencing different cultures and cuisines and had a two- year love affair with it all. Originally from England, she finally settled in Australia and continues to be besotted by food, wine and travel preferring to focus on the luxury end of town (thread count does matter).
