High Tea But Not as You Know It at Abode Bistro

Do you know how to brew the perfect cup of tea? It turns out celebrity chef Peter Kuruvita does. The Dilmah tea ambassador says you shouldn’t use milk or sugar – just a little honey.

Kuruvita and Abode Bistro’s head chef Ryan Hong are behind the brand new high tea menu at Adobe Bistro, the Park Royal Darling Harbour’s chic new restaurant. This is no ordinary tea. Forget the scones – they too aren’t ideal when drinking tea. The cream puts a layer of fat on your tongue so the subtleties of the tea doesn’t cut through.

The Abode Bistro High Tea is all about subtlety. It’s about delicate flavours. Earl grey poached chicken crustless sandwiches, tiny lamb shoulder pies, small squares of white chocolate and spiced chai fudge – they are all bite sized and beautiful.

Who needs scones when you have lemon, pistachio and almond macarons or a pot of bitter chocolate mousse that’s just begging to be scraped cleaned?

When it comes to the tea, there’s eight to choose from. Original Earl Grey, Supreme Celyon Single Origin Tea, Moroccan Mint Green Tea, even an Italian Almond Tea Pure Chamomile. Upgrade to an ice tea cocktail or a glass of French bubbles if you want to go all out.
