Prohibition was a grim time during American history when the consumption and distribution of alcohol was outlawed. It lasted for 13 years, 10 months, 19 days, 17 hours and 32.5 minutes, an experiment which ultimately backfired with the proliferation of speakeasies (illegal establishments selling alcoholic drinks), corruption and organised crime.
“The era also inspired some pretty amazing cocktails when bartenders had to try and cover up the taste of alcohol” explains mixologist Grant Collins (looking rather dapper at the bar).
He’s designed a secret soiree for you to step back in time. To sneak in a tipple from Zeta’s bespoke Vintage and forgotten Classics cocktail list and hear stories about ‘moonshine’, ‘bootleg’ and the all important ‘home free’.
Expect Prohibition Ice Tea served in fine China; Ping Pongs and Clover Clubs served in antique glassware. You can take a swig from bottles hidden inside books and you’ll need to remember a secret password to get in and out of the VIP Room.
