There are times when you want really good quality food made with stunning produce. Yet you don’t want to deal with the stuffiness of fine dining and the often kid alienating situation of a nice restaurant. Woodland Kitchen & Bar, just opening in Neutral Bay is here to help us with this exact conundrum.

Brought to us by chef Damian Heads (ex Pony Dining, Fuel Bistro, and Steel Bar & Grill) and his wife Jenni, Woodland is setting itself up to be a casual yet personal dining experience where great food is served up with no fuss or pretention. It’s honest food and it caters for the whole family.

The name speaks to the nature of the kitchen; with a wood fired oven, cooking dishes over slow burning charcoal with iron bark timber. Expert a beautiful smoky aroma in dishes like the Salmon served with pickled beetroot, orange, feta and mint, and the Lamb back strap served with smoky eggplant, quinoa, tomato, and herb salad.

Dishes not from the grill include the seared scallop salad with green pawpaw, cucumber, chilli, lime and peanuts, or the house-made potato gnocchi with roasted pumpkin, walnuts, burnt butter, and salted ricotta. The little ones stay happy with grilled chicken burgers, penne bolognaise or grilled salmon or steak served with mash, broccoli, and baby carrots.  With kids meals $12 for a main and ice cream plus an activity bag, the parents will be happy as well.

Drop by for a drink at the bar, a nice quiet dinner for two, a weekend brunch, or a whole family affair. Woodland has you covered.
