Small things can also be very good things. This is true of hole in the wall cafes and four legged friends who love you unconditionally. Wolf & Hound, the new dog-friendly. café to open in Flemington is a strong believer in both. The 32 square metre space is all about your four legged friends. They have a pooch parking station where you can tie up your little pal and they even have dog magazines for you reading pleasure, with or without your canine companion.

Off the beaten track on Pin Oak Crescent, Wolf & Hound, from first time café owner Luke Whitworth is all about giving locals something the area had been lacking… killer coffee. Whitworth, previously from Social Roasting Company, worked with Kensington’s Rumble Coffee Roasters, and it made sense to brew their coffee at his new café on the La Marzocco.

The menu, like the space, is small. You can start simple with toast and spreads, or maybe fruit toast with melted butter. You can go a little bigger with The Franklin, slow cooked pork shoulder, ham, Swiss cheese, mustard, mojo sauce, and pickles in a pressed white roll, or The Gracie of baked garlic broccoli, cheddar, and sweet picked mustard in toasted sourdough. For something a little indulgent go for The Crumpet, two Dr. Marty’s crumpets served with hazelnut spread, banana, strawberries, pomegranate maple molasses, toasted almonds, and labne.

Can we borrow someone’s puppy?
