The neighbourhood bike

Some trends are bad (see: perms) but the body wave of free-wheeling cyclists that has swept Sydney’s bike paths can only be a good thing.

To keep up with demand for all things wheelie, the Deus Cycleworks has relocated from Oxford St, Darlinghurst to its new home on Bourke St. The new Cycleworks combines the best parts of a clothing store, bicycle workshop and café to create a superstore of bikey glory.

Aspiring peddlers can pop in and browse single speed and vintage frames, modern road and town bikes, mini-velos and Japanese Keirin frames or get their old pushie fixed up by the onsite technicians. The workshop provides everything from basic tune-ups to the installation of parts and complete rebuilds.

The café serves everything from Nutella-tricous Ciambelles to avocado on sourdough, topped with creamed ricotta, mint and chilli to power you up for the hills ahead.

So, hipsters, get on yer bike.
