Sydney’s Spots for an Outdoor Session

Bellevue HotelWe’ve seen the first glimpses of Summer’s long days and warm nights, and wowsers has it been nice. So, as soon as the sun is out, you need to make the most of it. To help you out, here’s out favourite outdoor spaces around Sydney.

Bellevue Paddington

Head straight up the stairs to the Bellevue’s brand new terrace space. Gone are the dark walls and pokey furniture. Now it’s all about being bright, white, Hamptons chic – the benches and cosy tables are perfect for an afternoon session in the sun. Especially when the DJ is on the table and you’re snacking on a big bowl of salt and vinegar kale (hey, even though it’s deep fried, it’s still kale, so still technically healthy right?). Grab a caprioska or a Champagne before moving on to a charcuterie board and a glass of wine as the sun sets. The pub has kindly kept the wall heaters on just to take the edge of Spring’s cool night air.

Sit out on the jetty at Manly Wharf Hotel

The grand master of Manly’s outdoor Summer scene, the Manly Wharf Hotel’s umbrellas are one of the first things you see when you hop off the ferry. Look no further – with fun music sessions like Jazz on the Jetty (Oct 3rd) and a new Summer menu on the way, you’ll be heading here as soon as the sun starts shining. You may need to move inside off the jetty, but the open-air restaurant is also a great spot to watch those summer storms roll in after a day in the sun.

Café del Mar

The darling of Darling Harbour, Café del Mar’s semi outdoor terrace is definitely takes a leaf out of it’s Ibiza namesake. Relax back into a lounge under the blue and white awnings, grab a few cocktails and snack on freshly shucked Sydney rock oysters as the sun goes down. Make this your go-to Sunday session spot and you won’t be sorry.

Ah the Glenmore. A local institution that we all know and love. And trust us, once you’ve made the trek up to this back section of The Rocks, you’ll remember why. The rooftop’s views have always been sensational and is a great spot to work on your tan during these sensational Spring days. The Glenmore

Head across the bridge to this sprawling bowling club-turned-uber-cool garden café. Grab a table out in the sun and start your day right with 5 grain porridge, a hearty brekky burger or a refreshing pomegranate salad. The choc crackle French toast is something else. Long lunches as the DJs spin some tunes are on the agenda too.
