Some sea salt for Sonoma

A decade in the food industry is a long time by anyone’s standards, so with the celebration of Sonoma Baking Company’s decade of 3am starts, kneading, rolling and proving, you can now enjoy their further plans to take over the world, including the launch of their new Bondi Beach breadstop/café.

Joining baker Andrew Connole’s Glebe, Paddington and Waterloo outposts (and a new Alexandria HQ on its way), the beachside café is quite literally bringing Bondi locals toast with the most (choose from avo, marinated fetta, cured meats and more), as well as Single Origin coffee, panini, tartines, toasted sarnies and more.

Part of the Beach House complex unfolding on Campbell Parade, the café, with its outdoor courtyard and bread-adorned café wall, joins a growing food destination that sets itself apart from the tourist traps and fast food hangs in this neck of the woods.

Far from a carbohydrate-phobic city, Connole believes Sonoma’s expansion into new locations is indicative of the fact that Australians are appreciating the quality and concept of the art of bread baking … but don’t let us tell you what’s what: the proof is in the eating!
