It’s midweek and whether you’ve got to put dinner on the table for a family of four or just yourself, the struggle is real.

We won’t deign to count the number of times cereal and scrambled eggs have been on the menu (hey, breakfast for dinner is legit ok?!) but now there’s no need to wallow in cooking shame because Marley Spoon has you covered.

This is not just another grocery delivery program or a pre made meal menu service. Marley spoon delivers you all the ingredients, in all the right portion sizes, for gourmet meals you cook yourself. It’s not quick and easy, nor will you find yourself slaving away over a hot stove for hours. You’ll have dinner on the table in under an hour.

If you’ve ever wanted to pull a gourmet meal out of the bag, literally, this is your chance. There’s lots of packaging but all the little baggies contain real food! Full size heirloom carrots, potatoes with the peel still on! Better yet, the bags can actually be reused to store other vegetables, keeping them nice and fresh. And everything is portioned out for zero food wastage. The step by step recipe cards can be kept if you want to recreate the dish another time.

You get to choose from 12 dishes on a weekly changing menu – pick how many meals you want for two people or for a family of four. Price plans are based on whether you want dinner for two, three or four nights and delivery to your door is included in the price. Four meals, for two people, will set you back $11.50 per serving. Aside from the ease of skipping the supermarket, it’s also a good way to keep track of your savings. Who here goes into the supermarket and gets home with just what was on your list anyway?

Aside from dishes like thyme lemon poached chicken, the big news is Marley Spoon is launching Local Guest Café recipes. Think Kepos St Kitchen chef Michael Rantissi’s chicken meatballs served with silver beet or chicken chermoula. Keep an eye out for recipes from the likes of other Sydney faves Cornersmith Café and Henley’s Wholefood.
