Find Marlowes Way

Hoorah, we hear you say. It’s about time, you proclaim. Sydney-siders have just been graced with a true laneway-style café.

Forget Melbourne (!) and go exploring in the laneways behind Establishment. Stop when you hear the banter of caffeine-craving CBD workers and smell the wafts of freshly ground Little Marionette coffee beans (another Ed Cutcliffe special).

Marlowe’s Way – named after its hubby/wife duo’s son Marlowe – is serving up seriously good brew, fresh Italian-inspired food, street art and vinyl tunes to boot.

You won’t find the usual café suspects here – banana bread? Nope. BLT? No siree. Instead, there’s no-fuss Italian home-style cooking with produce from some of Sydney’s finest providores; brioche with ricotta, honey and pistachio; panini with pork and fennel sausage and house-sautéed cabbage; tuna salad with radicchio, fennel, cannellini and capers. For the more peckish crowd there’s house made meatballs with polenta, eggplant parmigiano and tuna frittata.

Breakfast features Farmer Jo muesli, ham and cheese brioche and a cracking scrambled egg Panini with salmon, spinach and crispy pancetta.

Come 3pm, appease your sugar hankering with a bite-sized Italian doughnut filled with thick vanilla custard or ricotta cannoli.

Discover Marlowe’s Way – before the rest of the city does.
