St Kilda Road Finally Wins

Slater St. BenchSlater Street Bench has shaken up St Kilda Road eatables and drinkables in a very good way.

Coffee was never a ‘thing’ on St Kilda Road, not much is expect for offices and traffic, until now.

Frankie Tan, Patrick McAlary, and Josh Crasti from Drugstore Espresso and Jared Lawler of Clement Coffee are the gentlemen to thank for this one. With a serious amount of coffee knowledge behind them, it’s not surprising that coffee is the main attraction here.

And by main, we mean pretty much the only. The food menu consists of Little Bertha and Dench treats and baguettes, but apart from that, the point for coming is to fuel your caffeine addiction.

Clement Coffee will be on the grind, with single origins on rotation, and filter coffee will also make a regular appearance.

The fit out is as simple and clean as the offering. A bench with a few seats is found in the centre, stools dotted around the place for tired feet, waiting for their coffee. It’s all white, wood, and appeasing green. It’s not a lingering kind of venue; so don’t kill the vibe by staying too long.

Also don’t drop by on the weekends, you’ll be knocking on a closed door.
