North Yoga Opens

North YogaYoga studios are as prevalent as smashed avocado orders these days. But we don’t hear anyone complaining on either front. And to be honest, the two go quite well together. North Yoga in Fitzroy is one of the newbies on the yoga studio scene.

Down Napier Street of Johnston, this is a north side studio through and through. The warehouse space has been transformed into a tranquil, homely, yoga oasis where hot tea is served after class, you can sit and chat on long communal tables, and everything is done with a smile.

You’ll also get to see a beautiful piece of artwork on the outside walls done by graffiti artists Chuck Mayfield and Julie Palazzo.

Sean and Natalie the owners found a love of yoga during their training at the Patanjali Institute, and decided that they wanted to bring this love to a studio on the north side.

They focus on classical yoga, where breath and alignment are really important. You can sign up for a range of classes from beginner flow, to Vinyasa, to yin, to meditating and yoga classes.

It’s a place to learn, with no pretence, and to shape your practice with a really warm team behind you.

About the author

Yoga teacher, writer, blogger, and marketing whiz – it’s safe to say Amy Collins is a busy little lady. Her idea of a stellar evening is yoga class followed by a glass of wine. Her favourite quote: “In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.”
