Stuck on mud

mud australia launches first Melbourne store

You may have heard of mud australia and if you have you’ll be tres pleased about the launch of their very first Melbourne store.

Finally, somewhere that stocks the entire range of mud australia’s handmade coloured porcelain; in fact all 21 colours in 35 different shapes. Home ware junkies – you’ll be like a kid in a candy store.

Shelley Simpson launched mud australia back in 1994, a collection of wonderful coloured porcelain tableware that is the perfect blend of modern simplicity and functionality.

It’s good to know the porcelain is oven, microwave, dishwasher and food safe, so they make the perfect addition to the kitchen or the dining table, but it is mud australia’s unique hues and designs that will have your friends ooo-ing and aaah-ing next time they visit.

The collection has also gained worldwide popularity, and is stocked in boutiques such as Le Bon Marche (Paris), Isetan (Japan), Liberty (London) and ABC Home (NYC).

But put your passport away, there’s no need to travel the world to get your hands on mud australia.  Fitzroy, (much closer to home), was the destination of choice for Shelley Simpson’s first Melbourne boutique, “we were excited to find an available space in Gertrude Street, Fitzroy, a part of Melbourne we think perfectly blends community, art, fashion and food.”

Get your hands dirty; here’s one place where it’s acceptable for adults to play with mud.
