Meet You On the Mat

Do you like to sweat it out to the smell of old gym socks and the sound of being verbally reprimanded for finding solace in red wine?

Then you’re gonna have a serious problem with One Hot Yoga.

Newly opened this week, these guys take blissing hard to whole new heights, which is why the first thing you’ll notice is that classes take place not in a gym but in a contemporary art gallery.

Well not actually, but you wouldn’t be totally daft for thinking so. The luxe space is the opus of reputed architect Rob Mills, who has made over an old ‘60s factory with serene vibes and a state-of-the-art heating system that keeps things at a balmy 37 degrees.

Ring a bell? That’s the same as your core body temperature, which makes it the sweet spot at which you can get maximum results with minimal risk. Combine that with Lucinda Mills’ unique Slow Hot Flow classes and you’ve got a veritable gut-buster of a combo. Minus the excessive physical pain, of course — these wave-like sequences and postures are as serene as the surrounds they take place in.

You might not even need that glass of red after all.
