Dandelion

New Vietnamese restaurant in Elwood

With winter creeping up on you (there’s no more denying it), what better way to warm up than with a big bowl of Vietnamese Pho noodles at a slick new eatery?

Right in the heart of Elwood Village, tucked in an easy-to-miss slender façade, Geoff Lindsay (formerly of Pearl Restaurant) has just opened Dandelion.

Although small in space, Dandelion provides a packed dining experience.  Lindsay’s very personal showcase of Vietnamese Cuisine explores a balance of flavours – the wonderfully intoxicating combination of the raw and the cooked, the hot and the cold, and the sweet and sour.

The Wrap and Roll bar, (a twist on a standard Sushi bar), features rice paper rolls, lettuce wraps and betal leaf wraps full of yummy fillings like soft shell crab, Peking duck and raw tuna. Roll up your sleeves before you go through the drill: wrap it, roll it, dip it and eat.

With Pho, curries and meat on the coconut grill, Geoff’s newcomer is turning up the heat.
