Where Art Though? MCA Re-opens

Why, don’t you look splendid. With a $53 million dollar facelift, you must be pretty chuffed with the results? Welcome to the dearly beloved and newly redeveloped Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA).

Reopening this Thursday (29th March) after 19 months of careful nipping and tucking, she’s back. Bigger and prettier than ever.

With its uncompromised exterior paying homage to the museum’s former façade, the sense of arrival is modern and chic. From three new galleries, to a year-long calendar already brimming with endless artful engagements, Sydney’s art aficionados have more reasons to boast than ever before.

Launching with a week-long bang and a mega watt schedule filled with a string of awesome events and exhibitions, start by taking a peek at ‘Marking Time’; eleven artists from all over the globe showcasing their talents in the roomy new top floor galleries. Then stroll downstairs to Christian Marclay’s ‘The Clock’; a 24-hour video installation on Level 1 in the new Mordent Art Wing.

No excuses for passing up this milestone celebration. Go and admire MCA’s handy work.
