Guerrilla Bar and Restaurant

If you love your boy bands, chances are at some point in your life you could’ve thrown your knickers at this man on stage. You may find yourself overcome with similar emotions of rapture after one night at Guerrilla Bar and Restaurant.

Stylishly renovated, heritage lounge-life is served by new boy combo Richard Dobson (ex Simon Cowell chart topping sensation 5ive), Tim Pullen (Cowra Smokehouse), Zane Heemi (Becasse) and Sven Tydeman (music producer).  Guerrilla Boyz are more than a pretty faces, they have created epicurean magic.

It’s a symphony from beginning to end. Front of house oozes warmth which will make you want to stay for the weekend and the locally sourced organic grazing menu is bustin a move at every turn.

Hat’s off to Zane for house baked breads as the fun starts; a miniature garden of baby carrots, edible top soil of dehydrated olives served in a flowerpot. Wooden boards overflow with lip smacking szechuan calamari, whilst crab scotch egg and killer hand cut chips are upstaged by technically perfect slow cooked eggs with crazy bacon jam.

The Jamaican Jerk chicken is a beauty; creamy fleshed spice sensation paired with cooling fennel salad in a coconut shell. And the carefully chosen wine list features as many wines by the glass as bottles, and boutique beers and ciders to warm the cockles of your heart.

Head upstairs for DJ’s and drinking (come Sundays for a great line up of musical talent from 4pm).

A welcome opening in Glebe for wine, food and music candy you can ‘Slam-dunk-yer-funk’ to.

About the author

Karen’s corporate job back in the UK had included entertaining clients in some of the best restaurants. This ultimately sparked a curiosity 'Just how do they do that?' (she confesses she was brought up on meat and vegetables, so this was all very exciting). Currently a Mr & Mrs Smith 'Tastemaker', she’s flashpacked around the world, learning about wine, experiencing different cultures and cuisines and had a two- year love affair with it all. Originally from England, she finally settled in Australia and continues to be besotted by food, wine and travel preferring to focus on the luxury end of town (thread count does matter).
