Game of Thrones Gastro Park Banquet

Dessert - Mulled figs by Candlelight

Been following the Lannister hold on the Iron Throne a little, well, obsessively?

If so then dust off your chainmaille, sheathe your inhibitions and infiltrate the two-hatted halls of Gastro Park.

And if not, halt: Spoilers lie ahead thanks to valiant gourmand (and unabashed fantasy nerd) Grant King, who is celebrating the release of Games of Thrones Season Two with a Westerosian blowout putting the “epic” in epicurean.

Pull up a chair and collectively geek out over dragon skeletons from the castle (the requisite marrow dish served in torched animal bones), before moving on to a main course inspired by the fiery aftermath from the Battle of Blackwater — whole fish skewered, steaming and staring up from a bed of blackened driftwood.

Fondue for the Kings (served with roast grapes and crackers) is a little less visually hair-raising, and dessert is an ambient arrangement of mulled figs and “edible candles” complete with a letter from the raven.

Let the games resume.
