From Winterfell and beyond

Those of you who are ever so slightly nerdy will already be well acquainted with the power plays and gory goings-on of Westeros.

So the announcement that the first season of Game of Thrones is finally being released on DVD and Blu-Ray will be met with a “sure, but when does season two start in the US?”. Thankfully, until then, you can get a fix at the Game of Thrones feasts.

Grant King, chef and owner of Gastro Park, has devised a King’s Landing menu that draws on the fantastic medieval aspects of the cult series. Think four courses, including bleeding stag (seared venison dripping with fake blood made from bonito, soy and ginger) and a soup of crushed skulls and ravens’ feet, on the menu for the month of March.

We’re not sure how ‘Khaleesi’ Daenerys Targaryen will feel about her prized dragon eggs being served for dessert. Each sprayed chocolate shell explodes with a liquid passionfruit and vanilla centre and comes served on edible earth, made from dark chocolate mud, white chocolate clay, gold nuggets, vanilla and buttermilk nitro rock, and crumbed shortbread, all drizzled with a golden orange curd.

No guarantees she won’t unleash her mystical, queenly powers on those who devour them but we can guarantee you and your noble guests will feast like royalty.
